Philanthropy
Rossmar & Graham recognizes it has a responsibility to give back to the greater community. We have been very successful in our fundraising efforts for a variety of charitable organizations, as well as inspiring our own employees to give back to those less fortunate. By encouraging a philanthropic spirit within our company, our employees have an even greater understanding of the people they touch everyday at Rossmar & Graham.
We have aligned our company with several organizations and/or programs whose causes we believe in and that have a far-reaching impact on everyone in the greater community. Some of our philanthropic endeavors include:
Operation Benevolent Heart - Developed in 2003 to help those homeowners in need living within Rossmar & Graham-managed communities, this program awards up to $3,600 each year. Our Boards nominate a needy family within their community and each month, one name is drawn and that family receives up to $300 to help with past due HOA assessments or to help bring their property into compliance.
American Red Cross - Rossmar & Graham raised almost $20,000 for the American Red Cross to benefit the victims of Hurricane Katrina.
Habitat For Humanity - Rossmar & Graham raised $10,000 through its charity celebrity golf tournament which helped aid the home building efforts in the Gulf Coast Region. Over the holidays the Rossmar team joined together to help build a home for a deserving Arizona family.
Sojourner Center - Rossmar & Graham raised $8,000 for this Phoenix shelter for victims of domestic violence, which helped the center purchase additional beds, enabling them to help more families in their time of need.
Helping Our Communities - When one of our communities was in trouble, Rossmar & Graham stepped up to help by waiving its management fee and asking all the community's vendors to do the same. The Board of Directors used the Rossmar & Graham Party Wagon to have a party to thank all of the homeowners who volunteered to clean up the community.
The Giving Tree - During the holidays, Rossmar & Graham helps its own employees in need with The Rossmar & Graham Giving Tree. Employees donate funds and Rossmar & Graham matches up to $1,000. On or about December 15th, these funds are disbursed anonymously to our employees to help them have a happier holiday season.
Helping Families In Need - Rossmar & Graham adopts needy families at the holidays, the most recent of which were two single moms, with nine children between them, living in a two-bedroom condominium.
One night while watching the news, our President, Jim Hanley, learned of a family whose holiday decorations had been stolen. He immediately contacted the television station about how we could help and Rossmar & Graham re-decorated the family's entire home.
Supporting Our Troops - Rossmar & Graham employees adopt soldiers who are serving in Iraq or Afghanistan. Our most recent soldier was a mother of six who, during her one-year tour of duty, received weekly care packages from Rossmar & Graham and its employees. She was honored at our Annual Board Dinner Seminar.
